With the release of QuickBooks 2015 soon upon us we’re starting to receive questions regarding the release date, computer requirements and implementation. Since I have been through the upgrade process many times in the past I’ll try to give you a brief overview of what to expect.
When will QuickBooks 2015 be released? If the past few releases are any indication, you can expect the release around the 3rd week of September.
Is QuickBooks 2015 compatible with my XP machines? So far the announcements indicate that QB 2015 will be compatible with XP systems. However, it should be noted that XP reached “end-of-life” back in April of 2014 and Intuit strongly recommends upgrading to a newer, supported operating system.
Will I need to upgrade all of my company files? You should expect to upgrade all company files. This process could take a considerable time allocation for completion especially if you manage multiple company files. Keep in mind that it is imperative to backup all files prior to upgrading.
Is this something I should undertake on my own? If you plan to tackle this upgrade on your own, we strongly suggest visiting the Intuit support web site prior to starting this process. You should also be prepared to purchase phone support in the event you run into problems. If you would prefer to avoid this potential headache we suggest outsourcing this task to an IT company that has done this many times in the past. Here at NetOne, we have the knowledge and experience to backup your current company files, perform the upgrade on the server and client machines, and upgrade your company files all without any down time. If you would like to learn more on how NetOne can help you with your QuickBooks upgrade, give us a call at 561-432-7823 or email us at email@example.com.
